Your skin is now exposed to harsh sun rays and scorching heat. Summer season damages your skin if exposed for too long and leads to early ageing of your skin. Hence it is very important to take care of your skin in this season. Your body loses water and skin becomes dry. People feel very tired and exhausted due to the heat. Even the finest and healthiest of skins need to take extra care during this season. Hence we bring out some quick tips for a healthy looking skin even during those dry hot days.
· Water: Time and again we have discussed how water is important for a healthy body and skin. Skin becomes dry and dull as we lose water in the form of sweat due to heat. You need to drink water in regular intervals so that you feel active and rejuvenated.
· Juices and milkshakes: Have juices or milkshakes of fruits like watermelon, grapes, banana, lemon and pineapple. Fruit juices are good for skin and they also add to water content in the body.
· Exfoliate your skin: External care is also important for skin. Allow your skin to breathe by exfoliating those dead cells. You can prepare homemade scrubs and use them anytime. Exfoliate at least once a week.
· Sunscreen: This is the most important one we should never forget during summer season. Skin needs protection from sun’s harmful UV rays and to avoid sun burn. Make sure you apply a sunscreen with enough SPF for your skin as soon as you take shower in the morning. Sunscreen must be applied at least 20 minutes before you step out in the sun. Carry it in your bag and reapply after every 2-3 hours. It protects from severe tanning and early ageing of skin.
· Moisturizer: Lock that moisture with a light, fruit based moisturizer which is not so greasy and thick. Apply it as you step out of the shower. Keep aside those thick creams which you used in winter and go for light gel based lotions. Skin absorbs them quickly and feels light.
· Headgear: Carry a scarf or umbrella when you go out to protect from the burning sun. This is very important to avoid sun stroke.
· Say NO to junk food: Avoid anything which is spicy, oily, dry and salty.
· Lemonade and Buttermilk: These are very good for your body and skin. They cool your body from inside and you won’t feel tired or exhausted. Drink them 2-3 times a day.
